Working Point

Used by all escalator manufacturers to determine relationship of unit to building structure as well as reference point to assure proper erection. On the horizontal plane these points are established on the center line of the escalator. On the vertical plane, the points occur at the intersection of the thirty degree angle formed by the step base line and the floor level at the lower end, and the intersection of the thirty degree angle and the floor level at the upper end.
